Overview

AstroGearFit is operated by Aetheris Sun LLC and provides browser-local astrophotography equipment calculators. Equipment values you enter are processed in your browser and are not uploaded to a server for analysis.

This Privacy Policy explains what information may be collected when visitors use the site, what legal rights may apply in the United States and European Economic Area, and how users can exercise those rights.

Data We Process

Core calculators keep equipment parameters and observation inputs in the browser. Optional usage measurement is blocked until a visitor accepts it. The implemented event contract permits only an event name, tool identifier, action or source category, and event time; it excludes calculator values, location coordinates, equipment lists, full URLs, query strings, observation plans, and persistent user or session identifiers.

After a visitor accepts optional measurement, usage events are sent only to the same-origin /api/usage-events collector. The collector stores daily aggregate counts for up to 400 days; it does not store individual event records, calculator inputs, IP addresses, browser identifiers, or user/session identifiers in the usage database.

Operational site data may include standard web request information such as IP address, browser type, device information, referral source, and approximate location derived from network information.

GDPR Rights

For visitors in the European Economic Area or United Kingdom, the site may rely on legitimate interests, consent, legal obligations, or contract-related necessity depending on the feature. Consent is the recommended basis for non-essential cookies or optional analytics.

Users may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, object to certain processing, and request portability where applicable.

California Privacy Rights

California residents may have rights under CCPA and CPRA to know what personal information categories are collected, request deletion subject to exceptions, correct certain information, and opt out of selling or sharing where applicable.
